A great tool : 2 Way Glue Pen

Recently I've discovered a new wonderful product: The 2 Way Glue Pen.

2 way? How so, you might ask.  If you apply the glue and adhere it right away, it works as a traditional glue.  But if you let it dry, it retains it's stickiness without being wet.  I found it particularly helpful with my Cricut mat.  After many, many, many uses and scrapes the adhesive on the mat wears out.  Apply the 2 way glue (it starts out a blue color and turns clear when dry - how ingenious), let it dry, and viola! You've saved your mat.  Just remember not to use too much glue or use it too soon after applying.  Or else your paper will permanently adhere to the mat. Then you'll be frowning as you scrape the ruined paper off the mat.

Happy crafting!

My latest obsession: Pinterest

What is Pinterest? Only my organizing fanatic's dream come true!  Have you ever thought, "I remember seeing something like that somewhere. But I can't remember where I saw it?"  Well, Pinterest is the answer!  It's a virtual pin board that allows you to "pin" any images from any website.  It then remembers the link for you.  You can create different boards for different categories.  Organize them, rearrange them, and share them.  You can also search and take peeks at other people's pins and repin them if you like it.  It's a wonderful tool to use if you're planning parties and gathering ideas.   You do need to be invited to join, but it's pretty easy to get.  Here's a peek at some of my boards:

Dol Goims

Here we go again.  We had the pleasure of creating customized dohl goims for a little boy who was adopted by a wonderful family.  The family wanted to honor the boy's heritage by giving him a true Korean dohl party, including the dohl goims to decorate the head table.  They chose an under-the-sea theme with blue and gold colors.  Here are the results:

What an honor for Elenique to have been part of this special occasion!

Dol Goims

Recently we had the privilege of creating a custom dol goim (tower)  for a fairy tale themed first birthday (dol) party.  Her color scheme was pink, light green, and fuchsia.  The client wanted the tower to reflect her banner that will hang at the head table.

We used white, tan, and black beans as well as Sweet Tarts, Chewy Sweet Tarts, kiwi flavor Jelly Beans, french mints, and Nerds to create this one-of-a kind goim.  And here's the result:

It was a wonderful challenge to create this dol goim!

Cute Proposal Idea

Saw this adorable proposal on www.greenweddingshoes.com and had to share it!  It was just adorable and very creative.  I love the attention to details, right down to the free download cards that were personalized.  Starbuck lovers would really appreciate the amount of time this guy put in recreating his first date.

Today's Inspiration: Chic in Pink

Just to show that inspiration comes from all things that pass through my brain, today's inspiration is from Disney's movie Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.  Yes, I watched it.  Well parts of it..mostly...some of it...  Going back to my inspiration, it's the decor of Sharpay's studio apartment after she pinkafied it.  (not sure if that's a word but I'm using it)

I couldn't find a picture with only the wall, but here you can see the pretty pink patterns that adorn the wall of her bedpost.  Imagine some paper chandeliers hanging in front of it and what a chic in pink decoration for a "Shar-fabulous" party!

Today's Inspiration: Name Letters

You've seen them. Name display for the birthday child; usually on the dessert table or the head table.  But have you noticed how boring they are?  White letter blocks...so boring! Who says they have to be boring?  Jazz it up with some hot glue and pretty items that match your party's color scheme!

After the party, you can always hang them in your child's room or on their dresser.
